Police are investigating after an elderly woman was robbed while riding her bicycle and a gas station clerk was robbed at knifepoint in separate incidents in Waukegan Sunday.

The Waukegan Police Department responded around 9:30 a.m. Sunday to the Shell gas station, 3411 Delany Road in Waukegan, for a report of an armed robbery.

Officers arrived and learned the offender was armed with a large butcher knife, according to a police report.

The suspect pushed the store clerk to the ground and stole cash from the register.

The suspect was described as a male black wearing a mask, gray pants, black and white Nike Air Jordan shoes and a black hoodie with a logo on it.

Later that day, a 70-year-old woman arrived at the Waukegan Police Department around 2 p.m. to report she had been robbed, the report said.

The victim reported she was riding her bicycle on the Robert McClory Bike Path south of 10th Street.

The woman was stopped by two suspects who grabbed her bike, the report said.

One of the suspects stole her bag that was hanging from her shoulder.

The female victim was uninjured in the incident and it was unknown where the offenders fled.
